Celebrating 60 Years of Service
Our Club's History
On June 8, 1957, our Club was chartered by twenty-five professional women from Carson City and Virginia who believed a Soroptimist Club could make a difference in the lives of women and girls in our community. At that time, our Club was known as Soroptimist International of Carson City - Virginia City. Twenty-one members were from Carson City and four were from Virginia City. Our Club honors our twenty-five charter members who believed in the benefits and rewards of volunteer service and we are proud to continue that tradition today.

During our 2017-18 Club year we are looking back and "Celebrating 60 Years of Service" by sharing the service projects, fundraisers, and community activities our Club has hosted over the past sixty years all in an effort to improve the lives of women and girls in our community. We would also love to hear from those in our community that were members at one time, that were awardees, scholarship recipients, Girl of the Month honorees, Miss Carson City from 1961 to 1980, and families who may have Club memorabilia that you would like to share for our SI Carson City Collection that we are developing. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at (775) 297-4890. Thank You!
