Club Awards
Girl the Month Awards
A monthly award to a current Carson High School Senior. Honors recipients for commitment in community service, exemplary volunteerism, and efforts to enrich the experiences of others in society, at school and at home.
Violet Richardson Award
An annual award to a young woman between the ages of 14 and 17 for volunteering in our community. The SI Carson City Club recipient's name is submitted for consideration of a regional award.
Ruby Award: For Women Helping Women
An annual award to a woman who has made a significant difference in the lives of other women in our community. The SI Carson City Club recipient's name is submitted for consideration of a regional award.
Club Grants
Non-profit organizations that serve the Carson City community are invited to submit a grant request to our Club to support their efforts. Projects in the areas of health, education, economic and social development, international good will and understanding, human rights/status of women, and the environment will be considered. Grants in 2012 will range from $250 to $500 each. Applications are due no later than Friday, April 1, 2012. Click here to download the application packet.
College Scholarships
Faralee Spell Memorial Scholarship
For a graduate of Carson High who plans to study education or child development. A $1,000 scholarship distributed over two semesters.
Girl of the Month Scholarship
Awarded to one student who received the Girl of the Month Award. A $1,000 scholarship distributed over two semesters.
Marge Patterson Memorial Scholarship
For a WNC nursing student. A $4,000 scholarship distributed over four semesters (two years).
Margaret Hersey Memorial Scholarship
For a WNC nursing student. A $1,000 scholarship distributed over two semesters.
Mary Coffey Scholarship
For a female college student from Carson City or Douglas County, Nevada. The $1,500 scholarship (distributed over two semesters) will be presented to a woman who is pursing a course of study in the 2012-13 academic year that leads to a career focused on improving the lives of women. The recipient will also exhibit a strong commitment to community service. Click here to download the application. The application and one reference are due no later than Friday, March 30, 2012.
WNC Trade and Industry Award
For a WNC studuent who is working toward a trade, business or technical degree. Scholarship amount varies, but generally two awards are given each year.
Women's Opportunity Award
For a woman attending a local college or trade school who provides the primary financial support for her household. Scholarship amount varies. One of the SI Carson City Club recipients' name will be submitted for consideration of a regional award. Click here to download the application. Click here to download the reference form.
